Sustainability at Pallas Husky

At Pallas Husky, sustainability is a central part of our work. Our guiding principle is to offer our guests authentic and unforgettable husky experiences amidst the pristine and breathtaking nature of the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, always in alignment with ecological, social, and cultural values. By focusing on weekly multi-day tours, we reduce environmental impact through fewer arrivals and departures and consciously promote slow tourism.

All our tours are led by professional, licensed wilderness guides. A key component of their training is sustainable tourism and safety management, ensuring that every tour is carefully planned and responsibly conducted in harmony with nature, animal welfare, and the strict regulations of the National Park.

Animal Welfare at the Core

The welfare of our dogs is our top priority. They live in spacious, chain-free, and species-appropriate kennels with plenty of room to run and play daily. Targeted warm-up and cool-down routines are followed before and after each tour to ensure their physical health. Social training and the opportunity to run freely in groups reduce stress and support natural behavior. Each dog’s health is carefully documented, including vaccinations, deworming, and regular veterinary care.

During the high season, our professional team of dog trainers also cares for puppies, senior dogs, and dogs in training, ensuring consistently high wellbeing throughout the year. We greatly value the opportunity to share our work and philosophy with our guests.

Proud Partner of the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

We are an official cooperation partner of the National Park and commit to adhering to its strict regulations and guidelines in all areas. Our tours take place exclusively on private trails agreed upon with the National Park. Protecting nature and following the rules is our highest priority. Guests are informed about our partnership with the National Park and the importance of nature conservation – this is a central part of our tours.

Cultural Sustainability

Our tours foster a connection between guests and the regional culture. We use local, hand-collected products and explain traditional recipes as well as the significance of regional labels like “Hyvää Suomesta”. Through active cooperation with the National Park and other authorized partners, we support sustainable tourism in the region and contribute to preserving local culture and nature. We maintain partnerships with local businesses and the National Park to promote sustainable tourism and support the regional economy.

Green Activities Certification

We are currently working intensively toward the Green Activities Certification, our most important sustainability goal for 2026. This recognition confirms our commitment to sustainable tourism and our ongoing efforts to integrate environmentally friendly practices across all areas of our operations.
